Subject

In the last post we’ve learned about greetings and how to introduce yourself. Now let me tell you about singular and plural subject. Same with others language, the sentences usually have at least subject and verb.

SUBJECT SINGULAR:

1. I =

saya (polite and formal)

Aku (polite, and more friendly)

Gue (unpolite, only for a close friend)

2. You =

Anda (polite and formal)

Kamu (polite and more friendly) But it doesn’t suitable for junior to senior, or employer to their boss. If you’d like to talk with someone who has a higher position, you can call using their name, but you have to put these word before: Pak/Bapak, Bu/Ibu, Mba, Mas… it’s generally use. E.g:

  • Pak Joni (Mr.Joni)
  • Bu Anna (Mrs.Anna / Madam/Mam)
  • Mba Merry (Ms. Merry)
  • Mas Donny (Mr. Donny)eLo (unpolite, only for a close friend)

3. She/he/it = dia

in bahasa there’re no difference in gender here, male or female we still can use “dia” and also for animal or anythings.

SUBJECT PLURAL:

1. We = kita/kami

Ex: We are human (kita adalah manusia)

2. You = kalian

Ex: You live in this world (kalian tinggal di dunia ini)

3. They = mereka

Ex: They are noisy (mereka berisik)

OK, that’s all for now, see you on the next article….have a nice day ^_^

What's Next?

Well, this is the first time I write an article in January 2011.
so, What's next on my blog....?
A few days ago, I read a news from VIVAnews.com about Indonesian proposed to be the official language in ASEAN in The 31st General Assembly of ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in Hanoi, Vietnam on last September. I still don't know it'll be accepted or not, but this is a really good thing.
Therefore, I have plan to make lesson articles about how to speak Indonesian. Who knows this would be useful for people overseas who want to visit Indonesia. Don't worry about learning it, I'll make it simple as I can, not too much in grammar, but more focus in conversation.
OK, just wait and see....it's coming soon.... :)
